In contrast to my recent editorial about how white movie audiences accept non-white film roles, I submit this exciting new Leonardo DiCaprio movie. Like many great films, this movie has the potential to transcend race, and become a film audiences will enjoy for decades to come, like Braveheart or Fargo. Or it may be a piece of crap, time will tell.
Audiences eager to chomp their intellectual teeth may want to consider “Dear White People” or watch “Star Trek: Into Darkness” for the third or fourth time, both now streaming on Netflix. Or just wait until the Star Wars movie comes out in a few weeks. Yay!
